No Matter How Far You Have Gone From Me.....Poem by Sanish Cherian
So sure that my words will reach,
I write to the person whom you were
and are no more.
You withdrew from existence
To merge in the wider universe
And become
the past, present and future of time.
I witnessed
the long and hard way you climbed to the
dream.
Now, I witness how well you built the bridge
between existence and eternity.
Your existence
Was a hymn to life’s glory.
It blew my sails to life’s distant horizons
And powered my wings to
the furthest dimensions of imagination.
Your glorious embrace of eternity
Showed me how truly death
is an extension of life.
Be pleased.
You made me clearly discern
between life & survival.
I am pleased.
You are there
more than ever
Will Love You Always No Matter How Far You Have Gone From Me.....

Readers Club - Poetry by Joanna Giselda Sherlin - Believe In Yourself
There may be times when you feel,
Life ain't gonna go your way.
There may be times when you think,
" It's just not my day! "
There may be days when you are sure,
No one cares about you.
There may be days you're waiting for a door,
To open and guide you through.
There may be problems which boggle your mind,
And give you much ado.
There may be problems for which you conclude,
There's nothing you can do.
There may be people who bear ill-will,
Who say you can never make it.
There may be people who can kill,
The faith you have within.
But in those times, days and problems,
All you gotta do is have self-confidence,
And just a little patience,
'Cause the key to success is to Believe In Yourself!
If you Believe In Yourself,
Failures will fade out of sight.
All you see will be success,
If you try with all your might.
With success comes happiness and peace of mind.
An unexplainable happiness no where else you can find.
But confidence and belief is not all you need,
You also need a gentle heart to do any good deed.
For if you have all these things in you,
With a dash of love,
The whole world will look up to you,
As the greatest gift from heaven above.

Poetry - STAMMER by K. Satchidanandan
Stammer is no handicap:
it is a mode of speech.
Stammer is the silence that falls
between the word and its meaning,
just as lameness is the silence
that falls between the word and the deed.
Did stammer precede language
or succeed it?
Is it only a dialect
or a language itself?-these questions
make the linguists stammer.
Each time we stammer,
we are offering a sacrifice
to the God of Meanings.
When a whole people stammer
stammer becomes their mothertongue
as it is with us now.
God too must have stammered
when He created Man.
That is why each word of man
carries different meanings.
That is why everything he utters
from his prayers to his commands
stammers,
like poetry.

Poetry - S E L F ( Swam) / K. Satchidanandan
My mother didn’t believe
when, in 1945 I appeared to her
in a dream and told her
I would be born to her the following year.
My father recognized me
As soon as he saw
the mole below my left thumb.
But mother believed to the very end
that someone else had been born to her
masquerading as me.
Father and I pleaded with her;
but dreams are not reliable witnesses.
She went on waiting for that
promised son till she died
Only when she was reborn as my daughter
did she admit it had really been me.
But by then I had begun to doubt
it was someone else’s heart
that was beating within my body.
One day I will retrieve my heart;
my language too.

Burj Khalifa, towering so high in the skies
Bigger than the Eiffel tower, Empire State building
Covering the skies like the Mighty king
So beautiful and shiny, such a masterpiece
With the moon as its crown and the stars on its robe
The Great and elegant Burj Khalifa
Words fail at its beauty, which will prevail for ever
Such great architecture is the Burj khalifa

Poetry - RAINY DAY, MY FAVOURITE DAY by Aroush Nihal Babu

RAINY DAY, MY FAVOURITE DAY
by Aroush Nihal Babu
Rainy days, they are wonderful days,
After rains, the puddle lays.
Kids go splash, in the puddles,
And watch rainbow in cuddles.
Moms make warm spicy snacks,
With dads pouring coffee from the flasks.
Boys are seen with paper boats,
Grandpas looking cool in their coats.
Babies frightened at the sound of thunder,
Grandmas comforting and holding them closer
People, who are tensed, watch the rains,
Your problems soon would go down the drains.
Rainy days, they are my favourite days,
Pray ,God makes more rainy days.

Poem - A wing and a prayer by Abdulla Essam - January 2010

by Abdulla Essam
This is a poem about a persistent bee.
Always busy and never free.
He now finally has his weekend.
Shall he fly in schools or hang with his friend.
The school is closed and his friend is on holiday,
But he will not miss his weekend, no way.
So up to the mountains he flew.
He went alone, without a crew.
He found a man who weighed 102 pounds.
He seemed larger than three and a half hounds.
The man sat on a log having a sandwich.
A treat like that, the bee wouldn’t ditch.
It buzzed around, there was no one to hurt,
And got swatted without an alert.
The bee fell and landed in the sand.
With a bent wing, he tried to stand.
The man stepped on it with all his might,
but the bee was innocent, he didn’t want a fight.
The bee didn’t want to die, not like his brother, his sister, his uncle, nor his mother.
He didn’t want to meet the same fate,
So determination from the heart, he did create.
The bee kept trying to fly till he got it right.
Because it wasn’t time to see the light.
The man felt sorry, kneeling before the bee.
Now finally the bee is free.
You’re wrong if you think that’s the end.
That is the beginning of the bee’s rough weekend.
